Police: Gunman barricaded himself in Lawrence building

Lawrence police responded to a gunman barricaded in a building on Melrose Street on Tuesday afternoon, according to Massachusetts State Police. The suspect is reportedly “armed [with a] long gun.” Police said it is possible other people are in the building. State police have asked that the public avoid the area.
