Display of cutting edge work at Context Art Fair

As the next generation of art collectors gathered around for the Context art fair, the Wynwood District was lit up with art aficionados and admirers gathering to celebrate the serenity and beauty of art. Context Art Fair is always termed as the three-year-old sister fair to Art Miami. The art fair began at a relatively low note. The ambience was bright and colorful, as the place was serene and somber during the initial hours of December 1 2015. But as the day progressed, a major flow of visitors from Art Miami was witnessed. In no time, the art lovers filled up the ample space to honor the beauty of art.

Context Art Fair celebrates the art of the new. It is a place where budding artists get their first recognition, as featuring here embarks new beginning for them. The fair has a stunning mix of 95 international galleries. These galleries represent emerging and mid-career artists who are waiting to be noticed and introduces them to an audience that is wide and appreciating. They capitalize on the huge crowds that visit the Art Miami. The opening night VIP preview is grand and glorious and additionally benefits the Perez Art Museum, as well as Miami Light Project.

The representatives of the gallery praise the Context Art Fair in unison. Eduardo Secci of Florence, Italy told media that this was his — and his gallery’s — third year at the fair. He has been a consistent participant and has seen a gradual improvement over the period of time. He shared that the exhibitors have become better, the crowd is more intellectually versed, and there has been a fine adaptation to more contemporary media. The buyers have been gracious, and the fair boasts of a very strong base of South American buyers.

Another gallery representative from Moscow, Alexander Sharov, was also all praises for the fair. He has been at Scope for three years and was persuaded to make the leap to Context Art Fair after three years. What persuaded him was the guaranteed collector base from Art Miami. Alexander was also a participant at the inaugural Art Miami New York that took place last May. He says that Context Art Fair is better for him, because he can introduce the Russian artists to a wider audience, owing to the size of Art Miami.

Berlin gets a special spot

Context Art Fair had a special edition spotlighting art from Berlin. There was an entire lounge dedicated towards the same, and it featured five different Berlin galleries. The managing director of Landesverband Berliner Galerien (the Galleries Association of Berlin), Anemopne Vostell, explained that the lounge can be termed as an information hub for art. Werner Tammen, the director of Galerie Tammen & Partner Gallery, one of the participating galleries in Berlin galleries exhibiting together, says that the platform is highly intriguing and can be treated as the testing ground before attempting a fair solo. The exposure to the international market is enthralling.

When asked about the simultaneous opening of Art Miami and Context Art Fair, Nick Korniloff, executive vice president and partner of Art Miami, gave a precise answer. He said that Context is a great amalgam of different international artists. It adds a strong element for the audience that visits Art Week Miami.
