Star Wars: The Force Awakens Trailer sends Fans into Frenzy

It’s another two months before Star Wars Episode 7 – The Force Awakens finally releases but that hasn’t stopped it from breaking records and sending fans into an absolute frenzy. Shattering every previous figure by some distance, pre-sales to IMAX performances of the upcoming sci-fi blockbuster have gone through the roof. According to Media reports, Star Wars Episode 7 – The Force Awakens managed to sell a colossal $6.5 million worth of IMAX tickets. This figure is six times what the likes of The Dark Knight Rises, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and The Avengers had achieved in a single day.Star Wars

Speaking of the incredible success of the film on his company’s large-format screens, CEO of IMAX Entertainment, Greg Foster said, “The only words to describe the first day of IMAX worldwide advance ticket sales for Star Wars: The Force Awakens are ‘record-shattering’. Further adding, “We’re seeing sell-outs across the board–from Hollywood to London, to Sparks, Nevada, and everywhere in between.”

Ever since Disney announced the film alongside their purchase of Lucasfilm back in 2012, expectations have been high for Star Wars Episode 7 – The Force Awakens. To date, whatever Disney has produced has looked incredible and the new glimpse of Star Wars is no different. Everything necessary to further stoke the raging fire of hype without throwing in any cold douses of heavy spoilers is what the first full trailer of the film does.

There’s a greater sense of establishing the galaxy thirty-five years on from Return Of The Jedi and the wider scope of the story outside of the new leads (and BB-8), but there’s still plenty of mystery around what we’ll actually see in cinemas come December.

Some pieces of original art and a promotional poster handed out to fans who didn’t necessarily know quite what to make of it were the only two things the first unveiling of Lucas’ film at the 1976 Comic-Convention consisted of. This is very different from the unveiling that took place a few months back.

An estimated 60,000 die-hard “Star Wars” Fans, dressed as their favorite characters descended on the Anaheim Convention Center for the Lucasfilm-hosted Star Wars Celebration fan gathering in April. Force Awakens” director J.J. Abrams and Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy unveiled a second, longer trailer for the film at the convention. The trailer received a rapturous applause from the audience.Star Wars

However, there is one similarity from the early days of the “Star Wars” franchise. The team behind “The Force Awakens” is hoping to preserve the thrill of discovery that has always been a hallmark of “Star Wars” films even amid the ever-growing blizzard of trailers, toys, and video games. The thrill of discovery is an experience that has become increasingly difficult to come by in today’s information-saturated digital world.

You can view the latest trailer of The Force Awakens online. JJ Abrams is the director the film and it stars John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Max von Sydow, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill.
